Rainbow Community House understands getting help for mental health matters can feel overwhelming. Limited number of mental health services continue to affect an individual’s access to timely mental health services in general. For LGBTIQA+ youths, this is even more challenging as they have diverse needs and are looking for counsellors that are understanding, friendly and unbiased therapists that help to affirm and support their genders and sexuality without stigma. Other concerns include longer waitlists, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
At Rainbow Community House, we want you to know that you are safe here. We are committed to provide you a safe and confidential space where you can be your true self so that you can take steps to reach your full potential. Our therapists and our team, are part of, and a strong ally with the LGBTIQA+ community.
We are aware that access to mental health services can be expensive and a long wait. In order to increase our office hours so that we can provide more mental health services to more LGBTIQA+ youths in need, we offer sliding scale payment sessions and mental health care plan. We also provide fully subsidized sessions from the donations that we receive (click here read our pledge and make a donation). Moreover, where possible and for those who are hesitant to commute, we also offer tele-mental health sessions because you are important to us.
For more queries, please call the reception between 9 AM – 5 PM from Monday to Thursday.
